Gloria Dale Peoples Elam, 82, of Springtown entered into the kingdom of our Heavenly Father April 19, 2025.

A funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 26 at White’s Funeral Home Chapel in Springtown. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, April 25 at White’s Funeral Home Chapel in Springtown. Interment will be at Springtown Cemetery in Springtown.

Gloria was born April 15, 1943, in Plainview to Ira Lee Peoples and Catherine May (Pierce) Peoples. She graduated from Post High School in 1961.

In addition to her love for her family, pets and friends, Gloria’s life passion was her devotion to research in genealogy and her family history. Her years of research would later lead her to writing and publishing her own book, “An American Heritage Story: Tracing the Ancestry of William Henry Peoples and Elizabeth Washington Peoples.” Gloria spent many years working within and later becoming president of the Springtown Legends Museum in Springtown. Gloria was a member of the Parker County Historical Commission. She wrote historical markers for various locations around Parker County Texas.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents Ira and Catherine Peoples and a step-granddaughter, Casey Krebs.

Gloria is survived by her husband of 44 years, Joe Elam; brother Johnnie (Linda) Peoples; daughter Paula (Joe) Divine; son John (Rene) Wheatley; stepsons Dan (Kim) Elam and Jeff Elam; grandchildren Summer Koenig and Jacob Wheatley; step-granddaughter Lauren; great-grandchildren Brooke Krebs and Dylan Krebs; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
