National Police Week proclaimed May 11-17

On Thursday, April 17, in the absence of Mayor Greg Hood, Mayor Pro Tem Ted Martinez proclaimed May 11-17 National Police week in Springtown.

“National Police Week in America was created to honor and recognize the sacrifice and contributions made by police officers in communities both large and small,” Martinez said. “Since the first recorded death in 1786, according to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund there have been nearly 24,000 law enforcement officers in the United States who have made the ultimate sacrifice and been killed in the line of duty.”
