Motley talks about inspirations for his book, hopes for sequel
Former Springtown Police Chief Anthony Motley got his big break in the publishing world with his first novel “Cigars Occasionally” debuting at the London Book Fair in March.
Motley was born and raised in Florida, eventually starting a career in law enforcement. Motley was a police officer for 22 years in Pinellas County. He retired from Pinellas County in 2016 and was recruited to be the Springtown Police Chief where he remained until 2020. After leaving Springtown PD, Motley became a mental health peace officer at the Tarrant County Hospital District.
